Toyota World Runners: Chasing Dreams Across the Pan-American Highway

Updated: Sep 22

When you think about Toyota World Runners, it’s hard not to feel inspired. Matthew and Stacey, the adventurous duo behind it all, are living out their dream—driving their custom-built Land Cruiser Chinook from Vancouver, Canada, all the way to Argentina. It’s not just a road trip; it’s a full-on lifestyle, packed with breathtaking landscapes, unexpected challenges, and unforgettable moments.

The Rig: Built to Take on the World

Their rig isn’t just another Toyota—it’s the world’s first Land Cruiser Chinook, a fusion of a 1996 FZJ80 Land Cruiser and a 1976 Toyota Chinook motorhome. Built in just 100 days, it’s equipped for all the overland adventures they can throw at it. Powering it all is a 100Ah battery, essential for keeping their rig powered off-grid. Toyota World Runners’ journey takes them through some of the most stunning and challenging terrains the Americas have to offer. From exploring the lush jungles of Mexico to riding along the iconic Pan-American Highway, they show what’s possible when you have the right gear and the right attitude. Along the way, they’ve shared their adventures, stories, and mishaps, proving that the journey is just as important as the destination.
